Well im a freshman and started basketball. I walked into the locker room and everyone was wearing jocks and thy were all laughing bc i was wearing compression shorts and that "i need to be a man and get a strap" Where can i get one fast?

It was the opposite at my school, nobody wore straps. Wait for them all to see how uncomfortable and unnecessary they are. Compression shorts keep your muscles warm so they do not tighted up or cramp, and provide the same support as jock straps. There were even a lot of people on me team that wore normal boxers.
If you need one, you can go to ***** or Sports Authority or Big 5 (depending on where you live, if they have those stores).
But you should wear what is comfortably to you, and having a guillotine on you junk is not my definition of comfortable.

Target, Wal-Mart, or any sportings good store has jock straps. I tried wearing both in college (jock -vs- compression shorts). I preferred the jock, more comfortable, nothing bunching up in your crack, football pants fit smoother. In high school and college I'd say 90% of the players wore jocks for the same reason I did.

Our PE teacher in Gr 9 made us all go out and get them as well. They are also available in chain drug stores up here......
To be honest I never have worn one since for normal physical activities as I find a pair of supportive bikini briefs works just as well. I am mean it is not like your willie is going to drop off because you don't wear a jock. Contact sports, another matter, especially given I am a hockey goalie. Even with the 'tender jock on (and mine has two cups) it still smarts when someone drives the puck into your jewels.
Go to "D I C K 's" to buy a jock, hilarious! (see above)
