I can tell you right now it would be cheaper to just buy a new one.

The cost of the panel itself is going to run you about $150 and then you have to pay someone to replace it for you, probably an additional $60-100.

Considering 19" LCD's are going for less than $200 right now, it is pointless to replace.

You might want to try Ebay. Often times you can find the same model LCD with a problem other than a cracked LCD panel. Then you can buy it cheap and maybe make it worthwhile.

The panel is the main cost of a LCD monitor. The shipping cost is probably more than the rest of the monitor costs, never mind what the repair company charges.

It is going to be cheaper to get a new monitor.

Is this on a laptop? If not then the only thing you can do is replace your monitor. If it is on a laptop then you'll need to get the monitor /screen replaced. This could get expensive. I would bet somewhere in the $400.00 range. That's one of the drawbacks to a laptop. With a desktop you could get a nice monitor for $150.00, even less.

The same thing happened to my son. He also has an Acer.
He is trying to save up money to purchase a replacement screen he saw online. If this is a laptop, a glossy CrystalBrite display would be roughly 275-350 dollars. For desktop monitors, see http://global.acer.com/PRODUCTS/monitor/lcd.htm.
