check the compression of the piston, if there isnt any, the rings may be fried, the battery wires should be hot, id be worried if they were cold. your spark plug may also be finished. check the fuel. try giving it a rest and perhaps fix the timing of the piston.

Are all the battery cable connections clean, bright, and tight? They can loosen over time. Maybe the battery is getting weak, or low on electrolyte. Check these items and then try jump-starting it. Or charge the battery first. Cables should never be more than warm to the touch. Good luck.

The cables were hot because you were trying to restart it. Clicking at the solenoid means the battery is worn down. Put it on a charger. The running problem could be from a dirty carburator - remove and thoroughly clean the carb . Gasoline is not the cleanest , even from the gas station. Try this - remove the aircleaner cover, put a cupful of gas into the carb- if it starts and runs on what you put in it - means the fuel isnt going thru the carb.

Push the lever from the tortoise symbol to the hare symbol. If you going through thick grass or weeds at a low rpm your mower is biting off more than it can chew and we stop.
