Your problem isn't that you cannot finish or that you aren't creative enough to come up with plots. Your problem is that you jump into writing without doing the homework authors do first. You start with an idea - brainstorming on paper. Lots of ideas actually. Anything that catches your mind. Then you start writing little short stories or paragraphs on those ideas and see if any of them meld together into one story. Usually they do. Then you start with some deep and detailed character studies. Really flesh out your characters. Give them pasts, dreams, hopes, quirks, likes and dislikes. It is so much more than "she is 16 and has blonde hair and an adorable name". Then start an outline. Your plot is the spine of your story. There are offshoots - subplots and backstories. You get them from the characters you have fleshed out. Use different color ink for each story in the plot. Black for the main plot and different colors for the subplots and backstories so you can move things around. You then do a story curve. Draw a rainbow. Start at the bottom with the beginning. That is baseline. Everything is fine that day. Life is normal. Then there is a conflict. That goes at the top. Then at the end, things are back to normal again. Now fill along the curve. The things leading up to the conflict on the left side and the attempts at resolving the conflict on the right side - all the way down until they solve it and things are ok again.

NOW you are ready to start writing.

I highly recommend to my students a book called The Novelist. It is a novel about a famous author teaching a college class on CW. During the class, she actually writes a book and details her process for the students step by step. It is a good story and a great creative writing lesson at the same time.

Your creativity is within you. Asking total strangers on a forum for ideas is just not right. It is YOUR book.

Just one little hint. Keep a notebook beside your bed. Often your best ideas come just before you go to sleep or just after you wake up. Make sure you don't loose those thoughts. Pax - C

what about a suspense *** mystery narrative focusing on your own well conceived novel writing projects that fizzle out before the last page! That'd be a good read.

all u need for a plot is conflict. plot = conflict + motivation. someone or something wants something, and someone or something tries to stop them from accomplishing it. once u establish that, the story should be able to hold ur attention long enough to write it.

If we gave you the plot, then you wouldn't actually be considered an author. It would be more like fanfiction.

Be careful what you ask for - there are 'other' kinds of plots, m' dear.
