where do I run third brake light wires?

I just put a cap on my truck. It has a third brake, I don't know where to run the wires? I tried to run them into the tail light. It worked but when I started the truck then it would not work. What do I do?

Run the hot wire from the hot on one brake light, and the ground from the ground on the other to complete the brake light circuit.

Depends on your brake lights.

Do you have separate brake and turn signals?
Or, are your brake and turn signals the same lights?
