I don't get it. It seems to me that the cop was simply a jerk. The next time I take a crap and reach for a piece of toilet paper on the floor, I guess I had better make sure my palm is facing down.

I think some queer named Mike Rogers just decided to get rid of Craig because Craig opposes same sex marriage. I think that the cop was also a queer with a similar motive. What do you think? Or, do you think?

The cop probably is a queer. Who would accept such an assignment accept a queer cop. I would have had to quit the force had they suggested I hang out in a men's bathroom hoping to get propositioned by a crap-taking queer.

I guess the peeps will do anything for a paycheck.

To those of you who find it so easy to say rotten things about the policeman, please remember that when YOU need one. Also remember that cops don't have the luxury of "working" in pristine and antiseptic atmospheres all the time. They have to go where the scum goes.

The Senator stood before a judge and pled "guilty" to certain crimes, plain and simple. And plenty of prosecutors have refused to go forth with a case because of "shaky" evidence. Craig knew the whole "routine". Do you honestly believe a prosecutor would have taken this case to court with a US SENATOR as the DEFENDANT if the evidence was not solid? This is not Wilfong and a bunch of jocks.

If you want to question the motives of the cop, have at it. But he is the same "QUEER" when he busts a drug dealer. He's the same queer when he catches a burglar, a rapist, a child molester. But I guess queers are OK as long as they don't infringe on the partisan sensibilities of the "morally correct".

He should have retained legal counsel before plea-bargaining. But, I suppose if did hire an attorney that would mean he would have had to admit to another human being that he had, in fact, gone into that stall for something other than its intended purpose (e.g. "Yes, esquire, I'm not gay but I was horny as all get out and the wife hasn't been giving me any in some time and was just hoping I could get a quick, no-strings B.J. in between flights")

A lawyer might have been able to persuade the judge to put the case on the stet docket

Such a question from someone who would actually pick up a piece of toilet paper off the floor in a mens room is astonishing. YUK !

But in any event, what he did wrong was to be a hypocrite.

He vehemently voted against his homosexual constituents in every area of just equal rights (except the right to pay taxes), while he was practicing the act himself.......well at his age I don't think he had to practice to be honest with you.

There is no room for hypocrisy in American politics.

he broke 609.72 DISORDERLY CONDUCT.Minnesota law defines disorderly conduct as brawling, disturbing a meeting or engaging in "offensive, obscene, abusive, boisterous or noisy conduct." It's against the law to invade someone else's privacy in a bathroom stall.
609.746 INTERFERENCE WITH PRIVACY.
Subdivision 1. Surreptitious intrusion; observation device.

(c) A person is guilty of a gross misdemeanor who:
(1) surreptitiously gazes, stares, or peeps in the window or other aperture of a sleeping room in a hotel, as defined in section 327.70, subdivision 3, a tanning booth, or other place where a reasonable person would have an expectation of privacy and has exposed or is likely to expose their intimate parts, as defined in section 609.341, subdivision 5, or the clothing covering the immediate area of the intimate parts; and
(2) does so with intent to intrude upon or interfere with the privacy of the occupant.

The officer had reason to arrest him, especially since it was apparently a spot known for gay trolling.

Ok, first he pled guilty when he later claims to be innocent. Certain gestures are universally recognized as being solicitous and Craig made those gestures. The cop didn't know who he was arresting until the arrest was made.
Hitler hated Jews, but he was Jewish. Craig supposedly hates gays, perhaps because of his own tendencies.
HE GOT CAUGHT LYING.

He got caught so he had to quit. why he would pick up a piece of paper on the floor of a mens bathroom at the airport is beyond me - incidentally the cop said there was nothing on the floor.

What did Craig do wrong? He was gay in an anti-gay party.

Don't blame the cop. The police act if there are a spate of reports of STRAIGHT men getting hit on in johns. Straight men tend not to like that sort of thing. That's a tawdry way to go about it to begin with. Gays need to come out of the closet and openly visit gay clubs. That way they don't bother straight guys in men's rooms.

He was a public figure that got arrested and withheld that from the public he pled guilty and thought the secret was safe
Being a public figure he has a responsibility of being a leader and positive influence by pleading guilty and wit holding that fact and trying to keep it hushed up and not fight the charges was wrong

You're certainly entitled to your demented opinion. If it was all that innocent, why would it have caused a member of Congress to resign in disgrace? If it was all that innocent, Craig would have had the cop's badge. Obviously, there's more to the story than we know. If authorities didn't have a solid case against him, Craig would have never folded so quickly. He knew he was caught, and he knew there was no way out of it. -RKO- 09/02/07
