It makes me sad to think that I have given 4 years of my life fighting this war so the Dems and Libs can tell me we have lost, so they can protest the idea of us winning.
Then I think that magnanmity is a powerful feature.
Even though they won't thank us, The men and women of the United States Army would like to say "Your Welcome!"
We were just doing our job when we fought, bled, cried and died to protect your right to call us murderers, inept, poor, ineffective and losers. It was our pleasure.

"Habeas corpus isn't a fancy legal term. It's the freedom from being thrown in prison illegally, with no help and no end in sight. No president should ever be given the power to call someone an enemy, wave his hand, and lock them away indefinitely. The Founders made the president subject to the rule of law. They rejected dungeons and chose due process. We all know the difference between fairness and persecution. If we do not act immediately to fix the Military Commissions Act and restore our constitutional rights, basic protections like habeas corpus could be lost forever, and our country would become unrecognizable." I don't believe the Supreme Court will uphold this. I am appalled at the ease with which Americans are willing to give up their rights - especially our Congressmen! EDIT: It's on the way - Read your own sources!

The rhetoric used these days is simply all propaganda. The phrase"support our troops" is a very catchy and sympathetic way of getting Americans to support this war on so called terror. I do believe in defending and protecting America.Yet I also do support the troops, that is, the troops that refuse to fight this so called war on terror. Not one soldier that we have lost have died for anything worthy. We have allowed our Government to send thousands to die with no plain site of who we are fighting. I Do Not Support The Troops that will not stand up for the rights of the people and for a better government.

If they do, our Gathering of Eagles will effectively counter the Evil Leftists' protests in Washington DC on September 15.

The Eagles will greatly outnumber the Evil Leftists.

I'm sure you know my views on it...
Anyone who doesn't support the troops is not worthy of the sacrifices that have been made on their behalf over the past 230+ years. I don't give a damn *what* you think about this particular war - it's the utmost hypocrisy to stand on the bodies of the troops who died before to slam the ones who are risking their lives now. These people sacrifice more than most of us will ever be able to appreciate, and people really need to start showing respect to their betters.

While people are against the war, they also do not want to lose the war. And the ones that want to pull out are democrats. (I will refer to them as surrender monkeys)
The surrender monkeys want America to be on the same playing field as any third world nation. (amazing how they do not want to live in those nations)
They can support the troops, BUT doing what they are doing is hurting the moral of the troops. And we all know that they loath the military.
With the pro rallies we should hold our ground and push back harder then they push.
This has to stop it is tearing this country apart. And I can see a civil war in this country coming. All this PC crap is coming to a head.

"Fight for Victory Tour," or "Let Our Troops Win" is not synonymous with supporting the troops. It is advocating the premise that somehow we can "win" this mess.
Conservatives here are constantly saying that liberals don't "support the troops." Speak only for yourselves.
There are no liberals here that are saying anything of the sort! - and repeating it does not make it so.
So I'll say it PLAINLY:
I'm a Liberal! I love America! and I definitely support the troops!
(Continuing to attempt to "win" in the middle of a religious civil war fueled by outside regional powers, where millions of factionalized Iraqis are killing each other -and our beloved troops - is not patriotism -it's stupidity.)

Love the spin on this. I am against the war not the troops. THe more you do this kind of vitriolic hateful rhetoric the more you hurt morale.
That's right, YOU affect morale by saying that there are a large group of people who do not support our soldiers, which is blatantly FALSE.
You can be against the war and for our soldiers, it is the most important thing about any war, those who are fighting it.
You are the one who is unAmerican in trying to silence those who do not agree with you, protest is not anti-american especially when the protest is against a WAR.

We love our troops just as much as you do and pray for them to come home alive daily. The Democratic Party I am affiliated with does not want to be smeared by overzealous fanatics such as your self.

You really need to get that shift key fixed -- you keep spelling "Democratic" wrong. (BTW, there's no such thing as a "Democrat Party. It's the Democratic Party. Just as there's no such thing as a "Republic Party.")
BEING the party of common sense and fairness that it is, and NOT the party of warmongering and invading sovereign nations on the strength of its leader's LIES, the Democrats very logically see no point in further inciting our troops to murdering innocent Iraqis. After all, we've probably murdered over 100,000 of them already, and thus earned the enmity of pretty much the whole world, which properly recognizes that our Warmonger in Thief is the worst mass-murderer the world has seen since Pol Pot. Iraq is GW Bush's Killing Field.
We need to get OUT of Iraq. NOW! Before any more innocent civilians are slaughtered in that Civil War of theirs which WE are responsible for fomenting, and before any more of our troops are **wasted** or maimed for life in this moronic/illegal/undeclared "war" that we should NEVER have started.
