Central air conditioning and heating will require that they install ductwork to carry the warm / cooled air to all parts of the house.
Realistically, for a house that falls under the category 'Renting & Real Estate' that does not currently have central air, I'm guessing you're looking at getting into the $8000 - $10,000 range to get the ductwork, the furnace, the heat pump, the thermostats and the like installed.
If you meant you wanted window air conditioners to install in the windows, you can get them at Sears starting at $99 up to $600 or so.

A/C prizes are quoted based on the living area you are trying to cool. So, compute your living area, go to the Sears Internet page and navigate to the A/C section. In there you will see different quotes based on areas as well as cooling requirements. That is the only reasonable way to quote a price for the unit you are looking for.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Call Sears! It'll depend on the size of your house and alot of other factors that you will need to discuss with Sears to get an accurate price.

Do not use sears. I used to be a contractor and did work for sears. I would go to the home and figure my bid and give it to sears they would double my bid and give it to the homeowner. Sears uses outside contractors and doubles their bids. Shop around and stay away from middle men operations and go to the contractor you will save thousands. Sears is a rip off when it comes to this type of thing.

There is no way to get an accurate quote this way. The only way is to have an installer come to your house, and give you a quote in writing. Make sure they are licensed, bonded, and insured. Ask for their license numbers. Get references. This will probably cost you $7000-$8000, depending on if you can use your existing furnace, and how much duct work needs to be done.

you couldn't just go to their website and view the prices yourself?
I think there are a lot of factors involved in pricing an item like this. You can't possibly expect a good answer here, can you?
