No, it's not right, but as long as working-class citizens keep voting for candidates who dance to the tune of the special interests, it will continue. The wealthy have been waging class warfare against the rest of us for decades, and only a few poor and middle-class Americans seem to notice. It has become so outre to speak of class warfare, most people (like many of the ones above me here) just decide they're members of the wealthy class, or maybe they assume they have more to lose from change than from perpetuating a system that has grown unfair and blatantly rigged.

Here is a joke: One day Bush found a bottle on his ranch, and when he rubbed it, out popped a genie who offered him a wish. Bush wished that all Americans would double their income. The next day, the NYT headline read, "Gap Between Rich And Poor Widens"

I have no problem with the rich getting richer as long as I can prosper too. The problem is not the existence of rich people, it is a system that does not allow people to prosper, usually by over-taxation.

In theory, anyone can become rich. All can prosper if they put some effort into it, and avoid getting into trouble.

You're obviously not wealthy. Americans at all economic levels have always worked hard. That's why America is such a great country. If you're not willing to work hard, you'll never fit in. The wealthy didn't get that way by sitting around whining. It's a simple fact of life.

Yes, you are right about this. Under the US president, the poor and middle class have been completely discarded in favor of his "Base", which are millionaires, captains of industry and CEO's.

But there is good news. The Crimson Tide will soon be rolled back and the Blue Sky will shine upon the "Eagle's Nest", and all of America.

Some of those wealthy people used to work hard themselves, until they learned to work smart. This is America, where you can be anything you want if you're willing to work for it.

"Working class"? Typical Marxist jargon

It is an established fact that for those people keeping a steady job that pays minimum wage (to start) for a period over 1 year, 97% of them have incomes above the poverty level

Hard work is to be admired and never hurt anyone. You should try it some time

I think the "working class" of America should realize that they have it better than the "working class" of any other country in the world and worry about themselves instead of engaging in class envy.
