Does anyone else think that's a pretty thin standard to ruin a guy's life on? Bathroom freaks aparently have pretty subtle codes to look innocent - but doesnt that also make innocent people look guilty? I dont mind personally that Larry Craig is ruined whether he was innocent or not, he ruined enough people with his H-1b visa votes. But the Duke Lacrosse case makes me uncomfortable with making that kind of evidence a standard.

It makes me uncomfortable too, the thin evidence, the rush to judgement. People with very little facts are ready to crucify the guy, when he may very well have been the victim of entrapment, or miscommunication. Why did he plead guilty? Because he knew you didn't have to be guilty to have a huge media circus happen to embarrass your entire family, state, and country. It's completely understandable to me why he would think this and want to prevent it.

And I think he may not resign afterall now. he's got legal counsel telling him what you and I know, there's really not a case here. If there were, why would the airport rent-a-cop let him plead to a simple thing like disorderly conduct? They knew they didn't have anything on him either.

I heard the tapes and kind of wondered the same thing. I mean, if the guy is a skeez, I didn't get it through the things he did. So he picked up toilet paper off the floor. If I drop tp, I pick it up and throw it away. I guess maybe I am just sheltered and don't know all these sex solicitation codes. I suppose I will think twice the next time I accidentally drop toilet paper on the floor. Wouldn't want to be accused of soliciting the person in the next stall.

His political agenda isn't anything I considered in what I heard on the tape. Whether it was him or Joe Shmo from down the street, the things they claimed to be solictitations just seemed kind of odd. I was never aware that putting my foot near the wall of the stall could be interpreted as soliciting sex. (Have you seen the size of some bathroom stalls? How could you NOT put your foot near the divider wall?)

I haven't followed this case much, so I don't know any other facts that may be in play regarding the accusations. I'm just basing this on the tape I heard, which seemed pretty flimsy IMO.

The Larry Craig case did not rest on evidence. He was confronted with certain actions that apparently are subtle codes in the washroom hook up business. He chose to plead guilty to disorderly conduct an d signed a sworn statement. If he wanted to defend himself, he could have, and had plenty of time to, retain an attorney and to fight any and all charges. It is not unusual for people to take a lesser charge plea bargain, but, when one does that, one is accepting guilt.

This guy sounds like a weasel and should be thrown out. But they should do the same to all the freaks in Washington whether they are Dems or Libs.
Jefferson took bribes and will be reelected. That is worse than this .

We need term limits to get rid of career politicos. And don't let them become lobbyists for 25 years.

First, I agree with your immigration issue, however Seinfeld tossed away his shoe laces when they only came in contact with a restroom floor, so I can't imagine why someone would pick up a piece of paper off the floor of a men's room stall not knowing from where it might have come.

All considered, if a straight-as-a -laser married man were accused of lewd gay behavior in a restroom, and they then plead GUILTY, even to a lesser charge, they would be way too stupid to remain a US senator.

If anyone turned their TV on they heard it, I'm sick of listening to it, he is guilty, guilty. I wish he would go away and stay forever and ever, I'm sick of hearing his nasty sex life over all the years in office.
