I am 33 weeks pregnant and last night my boyfriend and I had sex - I wasn't feeling any pain during it but when we looked down there was blood everywhere on the sheets. I immediatly got up and used the rest room and called my practioncer. She said to put in a sanitary napkin and wait an hour if there is still heavy bleeding then come to labor and delivery to be checked out. Well fortunately there was no heavy bleeding-but I'm still spotting and wondering what happened? All help would be apperciated thank you.

Your blood volume increases dramatically during pregnancy, and the blood flow to the vaginal and surrounding areas are a lot higher than normal. In addition, the cervix is easily agitated. It sounds as if that is what happened-your cervix was agitated by intercourse.

Since you followed your doctor's directions and have had no more heavy bleeding, I would give her a call back today and let her know that you are still spotting but are not experiencing heavy bleeding. I would ask if you could come in for a quick listen Monday or Tuesday (considering Monday is a holiday), but I think everything is fine. You may be put on "pelvic rest" for several weeks.

Are you having any cramping? Is the baby still moving? Unless there is other cause for concern, I do not think the blood alone is something to worry over-it is normal.

I had a quite terrible moment being pregnant, I hated it. As quickly because the youngster was once born, I felt such a lot greater. Also, quickly after, you begin to disregard how terrible it quite was once, and also you even disregard approximately the lengthy wait. Please do stay up for the youngster to return evidently, it's some distance greater for each youngster and also you. I count on you are now not that daft besides, however there may be a few determined ladies on right here! Honestly, it is so valued at it. I went two weeks overdue with either one of mine, it was once a nightmare. But I now have two comfortable, healthful ladies and I would not difference a factor. I comprehend it's now not what you desire to listen to, however you simply have got to stick it out and distract your self up to you'll. Keep busy, the time will move faster. But do not exhaust your self!

We had a similar unexplained spotting/bleeding issue with pregnancy #2. We ended up in the E.R. after talking with practitioner and it was related to the fact that the baby was resting on my cervix.

We were put on "pelvic rest" by my O.B. which means no sex until the baby was born and the rest of the pregnancy was without complication and we had a healthy delivery.

My only advice, call your doctor or get seen in the E.R. to make sure there is nothing serious going on with your body, better to get checked by a doctor!

oh my goodness thats scary!!!!! It could be that you had a blood vessel on the cervex that was under alot of stress from the weight of the pregnancy, and the sex made it open up. But I would call your dr back and just ask for an appt as soos as possible to rule out an abruption. Good luck!

Maybe the cervix was bumped and started to bleed for some reason. I would go in and get an ultrasound just to make sure everything is ok, even if your practitioner says its not necessary. I would be on my way in there Now.
