When i went on the website, i got mixed feelings over this. It says it can go on your myspace or website or whatever you have. It says nothing about copyright infringement or royalties. I'm not going to say what he should do, but If i was him, I would keep a close eye on things.

the "old" copyright rules required royalty based on income generated by the site. so lots of freebie sites proliferated and were legal as long as they respected certain playlist restrictions imposed by RIAA. the "new" rules require a $500 a year minimum payment and royalties based on per-listner. no break for frebie sites anymore and a ton of paperwork. Some of the largest hosts have cut a deal to cap the minimum payments but i doubt that will help your friend. RIAA wants nothing to do with internet music and finally they have a way of having the government shut it down.

It isn't if he, or the host of the site, is paying royalties to use the songs.
