I don't think he was gay. I think he may have used his percieved power to seek to dominate other men. That's not sex, that's rape. His head is surely screwed on wrong.
But he is like Alberto Gonzales. They both concocted tales to get off the hook and got caught at it. They became very untrustworthy. For that reason they had to go.

He was arrested, pled guilty, and then tried to cover it up. That's just not appropriate behavior for a Senator. And that should be a bigger issue than whether or not he's gay. And when a homophobic jerk is outed, I don't know whether to relish the unmasking of a hypocrite or be very angry at the damage he caused.
But the Republicans are worried about 2008, as the president has very low approval ratings, people are angry at the Republicans about the damage they have caused this country over the past six years, and at least one Republican Senator (Warner from Virginia) has said he is retiring. Remember, it was them, not the Democrats, trying to get Craig to resign; they want to hold onto that seat and try to get the majority back.

His homosexuality is without doubt: what right thinking human being would DARE let their foot touch someone else's in a public toilet, much less would pick up something from the foul floor?
He has to go, not because he's gay, but because he's DISHONEST and defiant and now far too distracted to ever be effective as a Senator. In addition, he has no credibility left. Hiring Michael Vicks lawyer is roughly the equivalent of a drowning man clutching at straws.
He's also asleep at the wheel. What a repulsive man. If you look like he does (old, tired and bloated), why look for sex? Who would want to have it with you unless they were hustling? Secondly, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Did he think he was magically protected from sex stings in public places? He got nailed. Good riddance.

The real deal is he is in the public eye and a public servant. His behavior should be above board and is open to all of us to critique. Just like Bill Clinton cannot keep his peter in his pants neither can Craig be against gay culture in his voting and yet enjoy sex with gay men. It is counterproductive to the country. It is two faced on his part. If he wants an occasional fling or oral sex with a man then let him stand up for the gay mens rights.

I don't know whether he is "gay" and I don't even care. What I care about is that he engaged in disgusting behavior in a public place.
Of course there are politicians who have done worse, and got away with it, but that doesn't make it right.
