Ok, here is my question. LSU won their game 45-0 and USC won 38-10. The media says LSU struggled and USC rolled past Idaho. Does anyone else see an issue with this. What is up with USC being such a media darling?

well as an LSU fan i agree that the tigers did struggle a bit to start off. but, playing in the rain and on the road with a qb making his first start, they did fine. especially from mid second quarter on. usc did not look as impressive, considering idaho is a weaker opponent than state, and they played them at home, with a seasoned qb. LSU's defense certainly played better than USC's. that said neither game was enough to show what either team is capable of, and it's always just going to be talk from both sides until the teams meet, which of course has never happened.

I think LSU looked pretty good last week. People don't give enough credit to Spurrier and the Gamecocks. They deserved that #12 ranking, so they hung in there and made the Tigers work for it. But I think USC would win this battle. I don't think any D will shut down this deep of a team. That O Line will handle Dorsey, and give JDB all sorts of time to pick apart that secondary.

actually LSU did struggle its just MSU gave the game away to them. USC looked good and beat Idaho pretty easily. Its not that the media loves USC and hates LSU its just that Idaho did better than MSU did against the 2 powerhouse teams. I dont favor USC or LSU i dont like both but this is the truth

One probably cannont tell all by the scores. Many coaches will pull out their top guys in a rollover so they don't get hurt for the tougher grames coming up.
I think that ASU played Idaho....not really an equal match-up, but you are right, the media loves certain teams and it shows.

They both played weaker opponents and looked like they should considering.

USC gets the spot light because of all the offensive weapons they have meanwhile LSU plays hard nose defense (6 picks in win ) and field position. LSU's offense wasn't impressive.

People and fans like to see offensive teams more than defensive teams.

They both did not look very polished in their wins. The media always gives an edge to USC and most Eastern schools. USC has also have shown everyone how to cheat the system and get away with it. The US population always loves slick criminals.

usc is in LA, while LSU is down in the bayou. anyone who says LSU struggled is a moron, except for the first quarter but that can be expected its the first game. if it bothers you that much dont worry they will meet in the title game and we can see who is better.

It's a case of classic LA/Hollywood media over-hype! Why is Reggie Bush on every commercial even though he hasn't done anything?
