I assume that you do have them in a urn, which is made for that purpose. You can keep them yourself in the urn where you want to keep them. Or you can go to a cemetery and purchase a spot where ashes in urns are preserved, to put them to rest permanently, and go and visit them there, which is meant to honor them and preserve their memory, or you can purchase a plot in a regular cemetery buy an urn box to preserve the urn and bury the ashes there. Some people scatter the ashes in a favorite spot that the loved one liked or even requested. You have to do what you think is best when you feel you are ready, for you have the family attachment of honor, love and memory.

My fiance's Mother had a beautiful and very expensive curio cabinet with her beloved indian collection in it. She absolutely loved her collection. After she died 4 years ago the curio and everything in it was given to us. We keep her ashes stored in a beautiful unique urn inside the curio with her collection.
