Is the city going broke? Didn't they just build a stadium? I heard they are cutting benefits to it's employees and retirees drastically? Is there any truth to the fall of the posts that the new stadium is forcing the city to cut retiree's benefits? Uh-oh....Should I move here? Housing is cheap but without cops or firemen who cares? My friend, who I am visiting, is moving to Frisco but the houses are expensive there.
I heard the crime is pretty bad...true?

Unless he just loves Dallas, tell him to go to Grapevine, Colleyville, Bedford, Southlake, Keller, Farmers Branch Coppell, those areas. Housing is expensive depending on what your looking for but I have lived in these areas for almost 10 years, crime is low and the schools are good.

I currently work for the city of Arlington, and I don't know of any cuts to our benefits. Yes the city is short on police staff, the the crime rate is very low for a city of this size. I know because I used to be a 911 operator for the city. The city is currently increasing its police staff at this time. As far as the fire dept Arlington is rated very high, even on a national standard. People from cities across the country used to come to visit our 911 center to take notes and build their system and response scenarios similar to the city of Arlington. There is a pretty large mall and a lot of attractions in Arlington.

Arlington , Texas is very nice town , it doesn't have anywhere the crime rate of most cities that size. I lived there once and i really enjoyed it Six Flags they just have a lot if activity there, I think you'll be better to stay there than move to Frisco.

Arlington is run by a bunch of Good Ole Boy's like Bob Cluck who don't have the slightest idea about retiree's benefits. He don't care. The City Council serves the chamber of commerce and many parts of Arlington like east Arlington they don't care about, no matter what they say.

This sort of thing is showing up everywhere. Cities are going broke because of lack of industry. This is something you do not see much about on television or radio. That is why it is so dangerous for the existence of BIG MEDIA. The trade policies we are involved in are bankrupting this entire nation. Here in NC there are so many empty factories. This is not even an issue in DC and that is why your cities can't pay. Their taxable incomes are being sent away to foreign lands at a very fast rate. It's basic economics, but politicians won't touch it because they belong to lobbyists.

Be honest. Your a city worker or retiree aren't you. I don't know a thing about what your talking about, but sour grapes all through that post.

BTW, its a wonderful city, heading in the right direction that has been fairly well managed over they years. Frisco is also another well run city so perhaps you should just move there.
