I brought a car and its stopped driving but still reverses fine .when i pushed it back it started to drive again then suddently stopped Anyone know any think i can try.

yea um.. sounds like youll need to replace the transmission. Not cheap.

STOP STOP STOP....... Don't let someone tell you that you need a tranny. First thing you should do is change the transmission filter. Let me explain why! The direction of flow in the transmission is affected by the gear. If it will go backwards, it normally means that your filter is clogged with trash and needs replaced. I have seen this condition so many times, I lost count. Transmission shops may say you need a new tranny, try this FIRST!!!!!! Also, a small part called a vacuum shifter could be causing the problem, listen for air leaking under the tranny.

Make sure your trans fluid is at the proper level otherwise it sounds like your trans has issues.
