leigh is pronounced lee, not leah. I do like the name leah though.

I like leigh better because nobody really has that name. There are tons of leahs but not leigh!

Leigh, in the US, sounds like Lee. If you want Lay, you'd have to spell it Lai, or Lae.
But I much prefer leah. Leah reminds me of someone calm and sweet, very low-key.
Btw, I wanted to name my daughter (21) Kimber Leigh. Her Dad had a cow, so we changed it to Kimberly Joy. When I told Kim we'd thought to name her K Leigh, she went bonkers, "Oh, no!! You wouldn't do something like that to me!! That would have been terrible." She much likes her daddy's version, so I guess we did it right.

I hate those names because I can never figure out how to pronounce them. When I see Leah I see "Lay", and when I see Leigh I also see leigh like "sleigh", but it really is Lee. Get it?
