It's called microevolution. All of our studies of existing taxa, the fossil record, and the DNA record, show living organisms in isolated clusters of genetically related members. Evolution, with natural selection and mutations, provides a sound theory of how each such cluster could have developed from a single genetic prototype, using well-established genetic processes. This is widely accepted, sound science.
Once you conjecture that these clusters evolved from a common ancestor, you do so without evidence. This conjecture is just as valid as any other conjecture regarding how known lifeforms came to exist.

It's called 'Evolution of the Species' by Charles Darwin. The amount of hard evidence supporting it is vast and it's pretty much definitive at this point. Pick up a copy.
