There's this:

Museum of Science and Industry: Museum of Science and Industry:
This is a great hands-on museum for kids. I visited recently and discovered that it's really not very educational for an adult. What I really enjoyed was the Titanic exhibit. However, I am not sure they still have it - it may have been temporary. Please check the website before you go! It was worth going to the museum for the Titanic exhibit, alone! Extremely well done....there were many, many authentic items from the ship. Parts of the quarters were recreated and it really gives a feel for what life might have been like on this famous ship. However, the exhibit did cost extra (on top of the steep museum entry fee)."

Sorry, just checked the museum website; that exhibit doesn't seem to be there anymore - see link 1

Is Missouri any help? If so, see link 2

Just drive across the river to Hannibal, MO and the Molly Brown Museum is there. She was on the Titanic. You know, "The Unsinkable Molly Brown"? Yep, that's her.
