I have a 26 foot cabin cruiser and others with same boat are getting 12 MPH top speed.
I think I may need to change prop size . Is there a special way to find out what pitch I need?

the motor manufacturer manual will give a recommended siz and pitch for your load condition. you may have one for heavy load and not speed. less pitch may give you more speed. your boat hull design may also affect speed. mercruiser.com has a lot of good data to help you select the correct prop.
