If you miscarry before 20 weeks do you have to have the fetus surgically removed? What about for twins? Reason I am asking is because my husbands ex wife made up this excuse (may have been true but she is a nut though) so he couldn't see his son this weekend...she said she and her husband were pregnant with twins and they both died so she had to have them surgically removed. She said she didn't tell anyone about the pregnancy because this might happen and it did (why tell anyone after??). I know she couldn't have been more than 20 weeks! Just curious because I do not buy it especially after the way she rants about NEVER having more kids mainly bc her son was born with a disorder her other children may have too.

I have my reasons for doubting her and so does my husband and his ENTIRE family. I mean if you were waiting to tell people you were pregnant to make sure the babies survive, why the heck tell them after they become deceased if that was what you were originally trying to avoid. Probably because she wants peopel to feel sorry for her. Like I said, she is a nut. I don't like her but I do feel bad for her. I do not know what it is like to lose a child but I would never purposely be insensitive towards the fact because I love my children very much and I would be devistated to lose any of them, even my unborn daughter!!!

When I miscarried my body took care of it at 9 weeks pregnant. However some people have to get a dnc because the baby (or babies) die and your body does not miscarry the fetus, or because they are too far along.

any loss may have to be surgically removed, some miscarrages never pass naturally, and if she was farther along than 10 weeks she would likely need a d&c, especally with 2. I think it is very insensitive of you to assume that its just an excuse and she's doing it to be mean. Losing a baby is not something you joke about.

she would HAVE to have them removed...her body could not get it done naturally. the latest you can have a miscarriage and not have it done surgically removed would be 2- 3 1/2 months depending on doctors but that is the LATEST...i have had 2 misscarriges!
