Bush is using the war to as a complex money-laundering scheme. Our tax dollars => "independent contractors" such as Haliburton => Bush and his friends' pockets.
This is what the war was about from day one. Our soldiers were not given body armor, proper guns, proper training, proper intelligence, or proper vehicles. They were just sent over there to make it look like there really was a war going on. The soldiers mostly come from the lower classes and are as expendable as the Iraqis are to Bush and Cheney.
Since the Republicans who are not in the loop are afraid to stand up to them and the Democrats are incompetent, our only hope that the billions that these guys are pocketing every month will be enough for all of them and their families to retire forever and not bother our government ever again.

How old ARE you? Really. Were you an adult when Reagan was president? Do you know anything about the world's economy and what drives it? Why did reagan reflag the oil tankers passing through the region? Do you REALLY and truly pay attention to the news services or are you one of those knuckleheads that lives in some perverse alternate paradigm? Who do you suppose is behind all of the suicide bombings in Iraq? What do you think they stand to gain if we should pull out prematurely? Who announced just last week that they are ready to fill the vacuum of leadership when the U.S. pulls out of Iraq? Who congratulated the citizens of the U.S. for having voted in the democrats in the November election last year? Why would he (they) do that? What would motivate them?
People are being slaughtered by the truck loads in Iraq. *hint* This is kind of like New Orleans and Katrina, the fault there, lies on mayor Nagen for having not activated the emergency evacuation plan and on Governor Blanco for having not shoved her foot so far up Nagen's @ss that he'd still two years later be tasting boot polish. It's a mess there because people are lazy and unwilling to work to clean it up -- instead they expect the federal government to come in and do it for them. So much for state rights (and responsibilities)! People are dying because the Iraqi government has done little to nothing to stop it. Instead, there are members of the Iraqi government that have not only encouraged the slaughter, but have helped to finance it.
How many Americans have died? If you do the numbers, we're averaging all of about 2.6 per day. Patton in 1944, while driving the American 3d Army across France lost on average 83 men a day! This, goining up against a well disciplined, uniformed, easily identifiable military -- unlike the plain clothed, hide behind the skirts of women and behind children terrorists we are currently fighting. No, I suspect that you are too young and uneducated to truly understand what is going on.

America has plenty of bombs to throw at other countries but not the ground forces to invade anybody else. We're pretty much played out in that regard.
Politically another war would be suicide for the GOP.

intellect- if you were so smart you would know that you first sentence is a statement, not a question, lose the question mark at the end or add a "is" at the beginning of the question.
Now to answer your question, the next target is whatever country threatens us next.
