A couple days ago my eye was hurting really bad and today it is swollen...the lid...i didnt get punch or hit or bit by anything, and i also noticed that there is a black dot on the colored part of it. It is my left eye if that makes any difference. Does anybody know what it could be? It hurts pretty bad! Any info would be great!

Get to an eye doctor ASAP!
That happened to me and, it turned out that the Retina in my
eye was disconnecting and I had to have emergency surgery.
I hope and pray that isn't what happened to you. Don't wait,
you could go blind.

My first thought is that you have a small foreign body imbedded in your cornea. This would cause pain, redness and tearing. The foreign body could also irritate the conjunctival covering of your eyelid, causing swelling.
Even though this is a holiday weekend, I urge you to go to the ER or urgent care center. The cornea can be numbed with drops and the foreign body can be removed. Don't try this yourself. Improperly done and pieces of cornea will come off like layers of an onion. Also, don't delay it. If the foreign body is metallic, a rust ring can form. You also risk an infection entering the eyeball itself, definitely not a good thing.

I believe there is some sort of foreign object in your eye. Maybe when you were walking one day a pebble hit your eye and you didn't even notice it. I think that the case is, you have a rock or piece of SOMETHING in your eye and you need to get it out. Got to your doctor ASAP and PLEASE try not to rub your eye. It could only make matters work.

I'd go to a doctor. It could be a sty on your eye if it looks swollen but the black dot I have no idea.

Go to the emergency room right away. Probably something got into your eye. It is a big deal, especially if it is metal.
