John Lennon's death gives me shivers - I wasn't even born when he died, but it really makes me dwell on how tragic things can be.
Richey Edwards - another which affects me. I was a massive fan of the Manics a few years ago (who am I kidding, still love them), I knew their whole story like the back of my hand, and I always found it so deeply tragic that he never had any 'conclusion' - I suppose, if his disappearance was planned, then he never wanted a conclusion anyway. The song Nobody Loved You still sends me on a little thought train when I hear it.
Marc Bolan's death was also a terribly ironic tragedy, Jimi Hendrix as well. I mean, I wasn't around for most of these, but that doesn't mean that the absence of such musicians hasn't affected my outlook on the music scene.

Jeff Buckley - but have to admit have never been a fan of Beatles/Lennon and not keen on Elvis, either!
