The practice of Law is as unique as the individual makes it.

The ones that make the most money are the ones that can attract paying clients to the firm. These are usually referred to as "partners" in firms of hundreds of lawyers, and generally the work of the partners consists of bringing in new business.

If you get into it for the money, you'll either be a mediocre lawyer or burn out within seven years.

If you find an area of practice you enjoy enough to work harder than most people in that area, money and things better than money will come.

A lawyer's earning potential is directly proportional to his skills. Regardless of field of practice.

That being said, everyone I've taught in law school who was in it for the money has bailed out. Save your money and everyone's time and pick something you actually want to do.
