I just wan know something about pools.

Football pools started at manchester by a fan who wanted to make a few shillings. I can remember if it was littlewoods or not.
football betting ie scores,corners,cards etc founded by the bookies as soon as sky showed live matches

Football Pools I believe are still running in a small way. The start of the National Lottery in the UK saw their demise. You had to for example out of all the divisions 1st 2nd 3rd & 4th select what 8 matches would result in a draw this would win you the jackpot. What 4 teams would win away and so on There were many permutations you could do, depending how many people forecast the correct results, depended on how much money you won. I think one of the last to operate was a firm called Zetters, the largest were Vernons & Littlewoods

It's really, really weird actually.

You do not bet on WHO is going to WIN, rather, just on which games will be a DRAW, and which of those will be 0-0 draws.

How random is that? And yet millions of people take part in it in all sorts of countries every week. ... Fantastic.
