i heard they run forever and i am looking for one to keep for a long time, how many miles is to many to have on one before buying?

They do run for ever, depending on how many people owned it and droved it. I had my Honda since 94 and there was one owner before me. I bought it at 50,000 miles, now it has over 250,000 miles and still running great. Maintain the timing belt and oil change, you shouldn't have any major problems.

Honda's don't run forever, they have a service department like every other new car dealer and have their share of lemons just like any other manufacture, you still need to be selective when purchasing a used one

hondas do run forever. i know someone who has a crv with ober 100k miles on it and never done any major work at all just minor stuff. i personallly wouldn't wasnt one with like 50k miles on it but that is just me i am looking at getting a ex accord myself and it has 41, 085 miles on it

Hondas are just like every other car. It depends on who owned it, and how well it was taken care of. 47,000 may be too many on some, and 150,000 may just be broke in good.

400.000 is a lot. I've seen one like this for an accord...but the tranny was leaking.. so maybe anything less is better to start with
btw this was a 91 model

I have my self a Honda civic dx (4Dr.)With 218,000miles on it.
And let me tell you about Honda's,1st.off it passed California
smog test no problem! 2nd.I drive alot of car's(new&used)
and this car can run"HARD"1500cc engine,5spd.110mph all day long.So,dont be fooled by milage?
