Because Weis tried to take a page out of Lou Holtz's coaching book and win with the option...and it failed miserably...Weis needs to coach the way HE coaches...pro style offense...with the right QB...THAT would be Jimmy Clausen, not Demetrius Jones...and also, instead of replacing the Defensive Coordinator, he should have replaced the Secondary Coach...Their defense actually looked better and faster, but they still couldn't stop GT...They ran over ND...

No it is not the coaches fault. The reason is that Georgia Tech this year has an explosive offense and a Heroic defence. Also, Notre Dame lost because of their inexperienced Quarterbacks, and the incredible pass rush that Tech put on them. Notre Dame won't be a terrible team because of this loss, but this means that they will never be the same without Brady Quinn.

i did not see the sport yet I observed the score; that become adequate. It become heartbreaking, I agree. My popular soccer team is whomever performs Notre Dame and green Bay. So this week i'm a Penn State and Chicago fan. so some distance as what to do, i don't comprehend. perhaps concentration on next week. Lions will do solid interior the vast Ten as common. possibly beat Illinois via 50 or 60 factors.

No, to be perfectly honest, you can't blame coach Weis.
As much as he'd like to take the fall for his players bad performance, it was just that. They performed horrendously against an up-and-coming Georgia Tech team.
Weis' only mistake was his reluctance to name a starting Quarterback prior to the game.
I understand his desire to keep the competition tough between his 3 Candidates, but it did nothing to help prepare them for the intensity of being named the games Quarterback, and then swapping around partway through, I find that highly unusual.
It could be that he is testing the waters with all 3, trying to use the first few games to decided the course of Notre Dames most heralded position for the forseeable future, however, I doubt it will do much to aid the maturation process of hopeful Jimmy Clausen, who was projected to be Notre Dames Quarterback of the future.
In essence, everything that could go wrong, did.
It was not for a lack of good coaching, Weis has assembled one of the best coaching staffs in college football. And it was not a lack of talent, because Notre Dame is finally topping the lists for the Recruiting classes.
At the end of the day, it was down to the players to execute on the field, to perform against a Georgia Tech team which had seemingly been written off, and they failed to make a difference. The players themselves failed to perform at the level expected of them.
Does this mean their season will go down the drain? No. But Weis needs to choose a definitive Quarterback for the future of his team, and his players need to start performing at the level expected of the Fighting Irish Athletes.

They just don't have the horses this season, and they lost some players from last year who are really hard to replace.
I think ND will turn out fine as the current players gain experience, but the first half of this season is gonna be pretty rocky.

Because they just couldn't generate any offense....3 turnovers didn't help either...but you have to give credit to Tech coach Chan Gaily and staff;he was very underrated at Dallas...they figured out how to contain the Fighting Irish.

I'm glad that they lost and they better get used to it,because they have a tough schedule,I hope they lose all of their games for what they did to Ty Willingham.Charley Weiss succeeded last year because he had the recruiting class that Willingham had brought in.

Even though they haven't had much success save 2005, Notre Dame is consistently overrated. They simply don't recruit marginal academic players or marginal character players.
I wish every school would have that athletic philosophy but the reality is different.

Simply because they have no Quarterback. They are just as overrated as usual but this time there is no Brady Quinn to win some games and get them to a bowl game like last year. Jimmy Clausen will end up starting, but he will not be able to right the ship. My predicion: Notre Dame wins 4 games and does not go to a bowl. and if they do go to a bowl its because they are so overrated.

America's darling ND does poorly when matched against a strong non-conference opponent. Dont matter, they'll be in the top 25 with 4 losses.
