I find my d/l speeds on my homehub, vary depending on the time of day. First thing in the morning is the quickest, evenings the slowest. I also have it on good authority that homehubs are poop. Try another wireless router.

P2P programs are usually slow... If the users you're d/ling from have slow connectons, you can go no faster than their maximum upload speed, no matter how fast your connection is.

Most DSL services have much slower upload speeds than download- many can receive data at 1.5mb but send at only 384k, or even 128k.

Plus keep in mind that if other people are d/ling the same thing, the bandwidth is split up among those requests.

no bt limit you're bandwidth as soon as the server notes you are downloading mass amounts but also xp does the same best bet is change service provider the reason bt do this is that so many people downloading clogs up the system but for example if you are with sky broadband and you use bt line they are obliged to give max bandwith usage because sky and you pay for the line but you don't use bt servers
