over study. staring at books all day. without rest. without physical activity in many cases. It is a strange priority. It takes its toll on your eyes. Thus, the cause of nearsightedness. Computers and TV being the relief source is another possible cause. Its up everywhere that is industrialized and has all these benefits. Its the cost to our bodies for convienience. Perhaps one day we will design a more eye friendly method of sharing/retaining information. With the advent of computers transcribing spoken words, perhaps its closer than we think!
I tried contacts. But the particulates make that uncomfortable or I am just oversensitive. Thus glasses are my preferred, more comfortable route except for times I want to look better than normal.

The Taiwan/Hong Kong area has some of the highest population densities in the world and poor records on Pollution problems, particularly air particulates. So eye problems are on the up swing. This is happening in many other areas of the globe parts of India and Mainland China.
Basically there is to much Air pollution and it is beginning to have physical effects on the population.

because in taiwan , especially in taipei , lack of green sorroundings , the green grass, and blue sky , blue sea and tress , almost all the kids spend in viewing tv more , more reading books , then the computer , tv, books computer are all white sparking lite that makes ruin the eye , also what they call tatin tong, and most parents is busy in working everyday they cant gurd their kids always

(1)Wear glasses is convenient than wear contact lenses.
(2)Not only Taiwanese wear glasses(or contact lenses) but also other countries,many Japanese,korean,....etc are wear contact lenses. Most people wear contact lenses because of beauty reason,but just you don't know they wore it.
I've many Korean ,Japanese friends,most of them wears contact lenses or glasses.
