My apartment would have a roach maybe once every 6 months. But maybe every other month, a centipede or two would pop up. Why would this be, what attracts them here?? I live in the city, not in a rural area. Do centipedes bite or harm you??? I cant stand it, I would rather have any other creature running around other than centipedes.

Yea, centipedes do bite which feels and can react like a bee sting, but they are not poisonous. Centipedes, especially house centipedes are attracted to moisture. I don't know if you have garden centipedes or house centipedes, but like any unwanted insect you can either capture and flush, stomp, slap, and mash, or you can call an exterminator. There really isn't much you can do except kill them as you come across them. I don't think I've ever lived in a house that didn't see it's share of buggies.
Good Luck
