Just the other day. Yes, I was very embarrassed. The woman looked at me like I was crazy, and I just waved and walked on.
What's worse is when someone recognizes you and you recognize them but can't remember who they are exactly. It's like, "Hey.....you."

YES!!!! This happened at a club. I was there with my girlfriends a few months ago and I thought I reconized a guy that I used to date a long time ago. So I saw him starring and me so I knew for sure it was him so I waved and smiled and he just gave me a strange look and looked away. So I thought "Well he must be here with his girlfriend and is ignoring me." So about ten minutes later my friend Courtney came back from the bar and she says "Hey your ex boyfriend is here." I said "Yeah I know I saw him and waved and he ignored me." So Courtney said "No way! He said he has been looking at you all night and wants to talk to you and ha sbeen trying to get your attention." I said "WHAT??? I have waved at him twice and he will not wave or acknowledge me." So I showed her what I meant and started to call my ex over and say hi and tryed to get his attention and he looked scared and walked away. Turns out it wasnt my ex, it was some guy that was like 18 and had the worst teeth ever. He thaught I was trying to get him in trouble by waving and it was another guy that I dated a long time ago that had spokenw ith my friend. I was so embarrased. I was getting so angry b.c he was ignoring me for no reason. I was such a fool! Waving and smiling to a complete stranger!!!

I got in the wrong car once and the guy almost took off with me. I almost fell getting out of the red VW and stumbled toward Mom. He was HOT and I was in my 20's.

omg, I did that one time, I thought my neighbor was my brother, and my brother hates mustard, and the neighbor was putting mustard on his hot dog, and I said 'you're going to put /mustard/ on that?' in like a disgusted tone, because I don't like mustard either.... I went so red it was really embarrassing.... lol

All the time. It just means that my lenses aren't in. So I have learned not to say anything so I can veer off at the last minute.LOL.

Yes! I have done that on several occasions. My husband laughs at me for it all the time. I usually just tell the person they look like a person I knew and apologize for bothering them and then run and hide.
