Hi i also have another question to do with breech presentations, i have heard that breech babies can have birth defects,is this true and has anyone on here had breech babies or perhaps been a breech themselves?

I work with babies with special needs, and I have never heard of this before.

Most breech babies are born healthy. However, they do have a higher risk for certain problems than babies born head first. Birth defects are slightly more common in breech babies. A birth defect may be the reason they have not moved into the right position before birth.
In summation, the child could be deprived of oxygen during birth causing a neurological issue, or there could be an issue with the infant to begin with- that the breech position did not cause, but in fact the breech position was caused by it.
Birth defects only account for 3% of breech positions.

Birth defects is one of the causes of a breech baby. Yes, it's true, but it also includes defects in the cord. For instance, if the cord is very short, a breech presentation is more likely, but there is nothing wrong with the baby. Also, some doctors believe current furniture styles increase the chances of having a breech baby. Consider sitting in straight back chairs and avoid low couches in the last trimester. There are some conditions (abnormalities) that make it more likely that a baby will be breech, but having a baby that is breech doesn't NOT mean that your baby is more likely to have something wrong with it.

I was a breech baby...and I was born with no birth defects. Of course my mom had to have a c-section, but I am "normal" :)

my first was breech and theres absolutely nothing wrong with him hes fit and healthy they do have a hip xray but thats normal for breech babies im talking 4 years ago so mite av changed

My daughter was breech from 6months to birth and nothing was wrong with her at all!!

in case you get pregnant whilst on the shot, which the probabilities are high even slimmer than in case you're on beginning administration tablets, there are defects linked with it. Coming off the shot, you're fantastic.
