Usually my wife's period lasts for six/seven days. Three days before, period started for her. But, it seems that her period is stopped today (NO bleeding today). (We had intercourse yesterday). Does that made my wife conceived? We're very confused. If she is conceived now, does having intercourse aborts her pregnancy? Please clarify my doubt. We need a baby...

1) Intercourse does NOT abort pregnancy. She may have some sort of high risk situation diagnosed later where sex is either limited or not allowed, but at this early early stage, sex would have no bearing.

2) A shorter period can mean a couple of things: 1) she's pregnant or 2) her hormones are off this cycle. I would have her take a pregnancy test today to rule out pregnancy first (make sure she hasn't urinated in 4 hours before testing and limit her fluids during that time also). If the test comes out negative, it's probably just an off cycle, it happens. If it keeps happening every month, then she should go to the doctor to make sure everything is okay.

Good luck.

Intercourse does not cause an abortion or even prevent implantation.

I suggest you look into how conception works so you understand the reproductive system much better before you conceive a child.

She likely did not get pregnant during her period. Most people ovulate about 14 days after the beginning of your last period (on a 28 day cycle). You have 24-48 hours to conceive, then 24-48 for implantation. If no implantation occurs, the egg is released from the body with the lining of the uterus- that is her period.

While there is a possibility that she released multiple eggs, it's very rare.

You need to become more educated on the conception process, google it or speak with the doctor. Get an ovulation test kit.

No, having sex will not abort a pregnancy. Millions of couples have sex all the way through the ninth month with no problems. Very very very few women would actually be ovulating on the 3rd day of their cycle (day three of their period) The average is to ovulate somewhere around day 14 of a 28 day cycle, so if you're needing a baby really bad, you should have read up, because you'd find that you're actually hindering your attempts to get pregnant by having intercourse on the totally wrong days.

730 days of those 1000 days ( 73% of the time ) were democratic dominated in the oval office, the house and the senate. Yet still we have a few responding to your question blaming republicans. HEY LIBBIES, you should thank the republicans for stopping it. The near $5 trillion in added debt totally Obama and the dems would be much higher if not for the 2010 election. --- where the dems got a worst any party a$$ whippin in 70 years!!! A period occurs when a womans uterus lining is shed. While a woman is pregnant, she needs this lining for the egg to grow into a baby over roughly 9 months.

Sexual intercourse fertilises the egg, released from a womans ovary which is what conception is. I don't think conceiving a child would halt a current menstrual cycle, but it could be possible.

Men release a hormone (prostaglandin) in their sperm that is also in a cream which is used to induce labor, this happens nearing the end of a pregnancy.

hope this help

Hi,

Your wife's period being short could indicate pregnancy, I would take a pregnancy test. Sex during pregnancy is ok as long as there is no history of miscarriage. There is a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler which I highly recommend if you are trying to conceive a child. I love this book for it is so informative and I find myself referring to it almost daily!

Best wishes :)

Sex has nothing to do with a period. It can't "abort" the baby either.
