I have a 03 Pontiac Grand Am 2.2 SE. My fuel pump went out and I replaced the pump and filter. A day later the check engine light came on. I had it checked with a Snapon Scanner and it read low fuel mixture on bank 1 for 23 seconds. The guy cleared it and the light went off. 2 days later (this morning) it came back on again. What could be the possible problem? How do I fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I just read all possible MIL codes for the fuel system, and none of them read as you indicated. The system is getting too much, or not enough fuel, and there is a specific code for both.
It could be air in the system causing the malfunction, in which case bleeding pressure off on the fuel rail would cure it. It could also be a faulty fuel pump, even though it is new.
Someone smart enough to operate an OBD II scanner should be smart enough to fix it. Just a press of the button will clear any code, but if the problem persists, the MIL will come back on.
