USPS, Shipping to APO, non perishable item, can we use the carrier pick up or do we have to take it to the post office?

You take it in because you have to sign legal papers about what is in the package .
(lots of restrictions on shipping to APOs)

You can have delivered or you can have package placed as "HOLD FOR PICK UP" I ship from Canada to China often and use both courier and postal system. Many times packages have to be picked up there by customer or the person I am sending it to. For places in Europe courier sevice reliable and deliver to address unless no one there and then to be picked up at courier office.

tell them to go pick it up or get it droped off at threr door
