If you love the constitution and want to keep it, look into Ron Paul. He's being censored by the media because of his revolutionary ideas. His voting record proves that he works for the people. Everyone else is CFR or backed by lobbyists.

Before I had children I voted, never saw my candidates get elected, became frustrated and gave up. Now, I am back and like you, gathering information on the candidates and the issues they are supporting. I have found there is less coverage of the candidates now than in years passed, perhaps because of the war, but it's early yet. My own issues are not worldwide... ALL my concerns stem from my own community. The poor is growing in numbers. Jobs being sent overseas or Mexico. Immigrants being imported to fill the few jobs that once were available. Budget cuts that have taken away things that I once took for granted, like public education, health care, eating 3 times a day, shelter, etc. If it were not for my employer's computer assistance program, I wouldn't be typing this now, because I couldn't afford a computer or internet on my own.
It's difficult to find out what the candidates stand for through the media. Although I have found out aboout Hillary's outfits and who cuts John Edwards hair.

Well I commend you for actually taking the time to get informed and vote.. I find that most people just rely on the media and don't research the facts... I do agree with you.. we need to make some drastic changes and elect a canidate who will make them happen... I have spent much time researching all the canidates... I have to say this election is a first for me. I never thought I'd ever vote for a republican esp after the disaster we call the Bush administration. But I found a canidate who really inspires me. I will be voting for Ron Paul. He is anti-war, wants to lower taxes for the middle class and poor, voted no against the Patriot Act, voted no against the amendment banning gay marriges. He believes the United States should have a non-intervenionlist forgien policy where we trade and negiote with other countries instead of fighting useless wars where so many innocent people die. He wants to drastically reduce the debt the United States is in and restore our country to the democracy it once was. Finally we have a voice for the people.. one that isn't backed by corporations and lobbyists.. but by the people.. Ron Paul is a man of his word.. just check his track record.. He knows where he stands on the issues, unlike other canidates whose stances seem to change from week to week.. I truly believe he can boost the morale of this country and restore a democracy for the people not just for the elite...

Something you need to consider is also their past track record. Many candidates may say something now but have flip flopped just to get the vote. Finding an honest candidate is like finding a needle in a haystack.

I think it's important to exercise this right. I will definitely be voting in hopes of making some changes.
You might find this link of interest: http://www.dehp.net/candidate/index.php
It is essentially a tool to help you determine which candidates share your views.
It was quite eye-opening for me to see who felt as strongly as I did about the environment, the Patriot Act, and the war.

You are 31 and have never voted? While I give you some credit for admitting that....you excuse on why is totally lame! Take the time to get involved and get educated. It really only takes a little time to do it and there are plenty of resources out there to make it easier.
As for issues involving America.
Healthcare
Governmental Accountability
Deficit Spending
Continuing Education
Poverty

I will vote. Definitely in my states Democratic primary, and hopefully in the general election, unless it comes down to the choice (in the words of Lewis Black describing the '04 election) "between two bowls of ****".
Im supporting former senator Mike Gravel. The man who did a five month filibuster in the Senate in '71 and forced the end of the military draft, and also released the Pentagon Papers to the public, exposing the lies of the government concerning the Vietnam war.
Today he is running on a platform of true change. He wants to empower the American people, not himself, through the National Initiative for Democracy. I'll give you some links if youre interested.
Mike Gravel is a once in a lifetime chance. In almost every election theres a few straight-talkers who tell the truth, but never has there been one this honest and sincere in his efforts to empower us and fix the deeply rooted problems in our government.
But I'll let you make up your own mind. Do your research and vote for the candidate you feel is best.

Not informed enough? I give you an "A plus": for integrity.. But don';t let that be an excuse, we have many voters, whose only "information" is what others tell them and they have never taken the time to
examine the issues and make their own decsions.

on an identical time as conserving my nostril in glaring distaste, i could vote for Clinton/Obama. McCain kowtows to W, Giuliani earnings from Iraq, and the two are decrease than the guy they seem to be.

Barack Obama. Go to BarackObama.com. Everything he stands for and his voting record is on that website. All other candidates have websites, also.
