You should use Mozilla Firefox as your default browser and only use the dangerously insecure Microsloth Internet Exposer to access trusted sites that are just too lame or inconsiderate not to force you to use the world's most popular piece of web-surfing crapware.
Mozilla does not support and will never support the use of ActiveX controls. ActiveX controls are programs that enable Acrobat or Flash or lie in wait on malicious websites to enable unwanted software to be installed on your computer and/or desirable software to be corrupted or removed from your computer. Microsoft thinks its more important for your browser to have lots of neat features, no matter how dangerous, than let you decide what does and doesn't get into your PC.

It depends on the amount of RAM your computer has. My PC has 1 GB RAM and I can run Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera at once.

Yes it may depend on your computer, I use Internet Explorer and Firefox both at the same time open them one at a time and minimize them and click back and forth one to the other as needed.

Yes you can but why would you want to? It only makes internet surfing slower because it makes your computer work harder.
