It has a purpose and design to show that things have to be taken in larger perspective and that life is perpetual, not only confined to the present but it had past and will extend beyond this life.

We have human frailty because we are exactly that, only human. I do believe that when we have hard times and trials that it helps us to appreciate the good times. And in response to the above answer about God making those horrible things happen. God doesn't MAKE those happen. Rape, murder, etc. are all a combination of the devil's work and humans' free will.

P.S. If it was a perfect world, we'd would not know the meaning of good times and bad times. Things would never change for good or bad.

The human frailties are inbuilt in the cosmic system. The form of a human being is a temporal phase in the cosmic life of soul atman within... a means to regain its original pure pristine form. The moment human beings gains enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and salvation (moksha)... All is over for the soul atman within.

The human form is the highest manifest stage in the cosmic life cycle of the soul atman within. Only as a human being the soul atman within gains liberation from the cycle of birth and death forever. Never from heaven or hell or in any other life form can the soul atman within liberate. In the human form alone we have 1.1 million manifestations.

Out of a chain of 8.4 million manifestations... 7.3 million manifestations are spent in the insect, plant and animal form. All forms of life are embedded with impurities within. The moment complete impurities eradicate forever... the soul atman reaches the last leg of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation when a human being gains enlightenment and salvation!

Our existence in the human form indicates that impurities within the soul atman exist. The moment we gain absolute purity... reach the highest manifest stage of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation... all is over for the soul atman within! The liberated soul atman finally gains entry into the kingdom of God (aka Baikuntha in Hinduism).

The frailties... flaws in the human form is part of the cosmic life similar as a student of class one cannot be considered weak compared to a student of class ten. The journey of life is completed in steps. The cosmic journey of life has 8.4 million steps... 8.4 million manifest stages in the insect, plant, animal and human form!

The ultimate crux of life is removing the dross within the soul atman forever! Gaining enlightenment and salvation is the end goal of every life form. We may travel the spiritual path now or many manifestations henceforth... is our absolute prerogative. Who knows what we shall be in the next manifestation... why not start traveling the spiritual path now! More on Humans Beings evolution - http://www.godrealized.org/humanbeings/human_being.html

I believe human frailities are use to teach compassion and strength. It's amazing to see the sick, injured, and incapacitated smile and say they're happy in their situation. While some of us who are healthy are constantly complaining, they are finding good in the world around them.

God's purpose behind this is, to only make humans realise that nobody is all powerful. & besides, frailty is something, which every human being has to go through.

Human frailties were not part of God's plan. We became frail as a result of sin. God uses them now so that we can learn our limitations. Without Him, we can do nothing; with Him, we can do all things.

And the follow-up question, 'why is there predation, disease, child rape, deformity and all the other evils in the world?" To teach us a lesson in compassion, etc....? hmmm, with gods like that, who needs 'em?

they teach us so we can learn to overcome them and become stronger and smarter. the more we have confidence in ourselves to solve our own problems the less we can whine to God. and you know what? since God helps those who help themselves if we learn to help ourselves do we really need to be emotionally dependant on the concept of an all knowing all powerful deity? think about it. if we know we're actually supposed to be good and take care of each other we don't have to fear death do we? religeon's only exists because it feeds on our frailties and fear of death.
