yes, the planetary position on aug- 28th , the lunar eclipse day clearly indicate the possibility of earthquake. a week before , answering a question " moons garvitational pull strong enough to cause earthquack" (Fridge Raider). and another question " does the lunar eclipse on 28th august have any astrological importance"..... my studies in indian vedic astrology very clearly shows the possibility of earthquake after 28th -aug -2007, lunar eclipse. because the disturbances of the earth`s field force, and planetary axis , and groupings ,(leo -Aquarius, and Scorpio -Taurus, -- axis), clearly indicacate the Big Earthquake. thanks. we have yet to hear of a seismologist, and scientists, Who can predict correctly the occurrance of an earthquake. Only top astrologers , , your views please. THANKS. ... sunastro_moon

I cannot answer this question from a Vedic perspective, however I will say that while the total full moon eclipse DOES carry astrological importance for all nations and leaders, an eclipse (Solar or Lunar) does not however augur natural disturbances such as a big earthquake.

If we wish to determine whether the nation of Japan and its people are under threat of suffering a big earthquake, one way to go about this is to refer to the 2007 Aries Ingress - charted for Japan.

The Aries Ingress (the entry of the Sun into the Cardinal sign of Aries) will furnish a framework outline of the entire *astrological* year. If there is the *possibility* for a big earthquake it will most definitely show up in the Aries Ingress first.

The Aries Ingress is then *filled in* and *enriched by* the various other astronomical events that occur during the year, events such as a total Full Moon lunar eclipse.

Eclipses (Solar or Lunar) rarely, if ever, bring about anything on there own. Rather, eclipses act as triggers for possibilities that were or are already in existence.

Because I am a naturally curious type, I helped myself to a cursory look at the Aries Ingress for Japan (Aries Ingress: March 21, 2007 @ 9:07 AM Tokyo, Japan)

The fourth house has rulership over the living conditions of the people and it is here we can predict whether the people of Japan will at some point suffer property damage from either flood or EARTHQUAKE.

Analysis of the Aries Ingress *fourth house* reveals 17 Leo on the cusp. The great malefic Saturn 18 Leo looms near the critical axis of the IC opposed by Mars 17 Aquarius. This alignment of Saturn (of solid land and earth) and Mars (of sudden force and destruction) does in fact reveal the great possibility of a MAJOR earthquake striking Japan. Additionally, given the signs these planets find themselves in (Leo/Aquarius) were there an earthquake it could very well be rather powerful and dramatic in nature and even of historic proportions!

So yes, while your prediction is a good one and valid, I however cannot get on board with the idea of the total full moon eclipse serving as the triggering factor or culprit. In fact, if you're looking for a trigger event you need only look at the current August 12TH New Moon lunation period-having occurred @ 18 Leo and thereby serving to "awakening" the dormant Mars-Saturn Ingress possibility.

Again, New and Full lunation's and eclipses (Solar or Lunar) rarely, if ever, bring about anything on there own. We need evidence of a *swift* inner-planet to back up the New Moon awakening - an inner-planet like VENUS!

Venus can be every bit the *****, destructive and harmful, especially when she finds sudden release and liberation from a period of retrograde motion (as she is currently readying herself to do) and doubly when she finds herself at *odds* with Mars (as she is now in relation to the position Mars holds in the Aries Ingress.)

On the day of the total Full Moon lunar eclipse, August 28, 2007, transiting Venus retrograde found herself conjoined to Aries Ingress Saturn 18 Leo and the Aug. 12 New Moon degree. She did not act - so far as I know.

Yesterday, Sept. 1, 2007 transiting Venus retrograde on the IC axis directly opposed Mars in the Aries Ingress. She did not act - so far as I know.

On Sept. 8, 2007 transiting Venus will liberate herself from retrograde status 16 Leo. This Venus event on this date occurs within the realm of the Aug. 12TH New Moon period. Will she act then? That remains to be seen!

Venus direct in Leo will pass over the Mars-Saturn alignment one more time come the days between Sept. 15TH thru Sept. 19TH. Will she act then? This *last chance* transiting trigger of Venus occurs outside of the Aug 12, 2007 New Moon period, therefore I am not sure she will act nor am I completely comfortable predicting that she will act.

Although anything is POSSIBLE! So I do think it might be worth keeping a watchful eye upon!

Good question sunastro_moon. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to lend my thoughts and hopefully help to ANSWER this question for you. :)

There is intense sense of excitement. You have done hard work washing your time in unprofitable and in useless way. You are still in doubt. Any how, you have observed the effects of Lunar eclipse and moon's gravitation causing earthquack.
Please wait. you will get your answer by 11-9-2007, the Sun eclipse. The new beginning.

Sorry, I think the key word is 'drills' to which you could accompany the word 'annual' to.
Japan is a earthquake hotspot, so they conduct drills every year.
I haven't heard of any recent 'quake (and i hope they don't suffer any) since the one in July.

You're on the wrong page. This is astronomy, not astrology. One is a real science, the latter is non-sense. BTW, this isn't a "question", it's just your opinion.
