Because he is the one causing great harm to our Constitution here and now; we need to encourage Congress to excercise their checks and balances to block his plans.

It's pure partisan politics. The Dems have become so rabid in their efforts to end capitalism and replace it with socialism that their patience has run out. They're going insane from the frustration of not getting their way, and their hatred has mounted exponentially.
They rationalize things, like Bush stole the elections and 9/11 was a neocon plot to start an Armageddon so they can take over the world.
Hatred is the last bastion of those with no ideas, who steadfastly believe things that aren't true and are too immature to recognize what is correct, and who have no moral compass or principals that guide them to rational solutions to their problems.
Hello, contemporary liberals in America!
They are so odious and repulsive, and so dead-on determined to win through negativity and hatred, that they'll be in for a big surprise by the '08 elections. They were lucky with the turn of events in '06, especially the well-placed stink bomb of the Mark Foley scandal, which caused a slew Republican congressional candidtates across the country to drop 10 points in the polls.
Live by the sword, die by the sword. Hatred and lies may win a battle here and there, but the truth will always win in a free society.
Socialism is wrong. Freedom is right, and when people live with both, they will see the truth.

i don't exactly see why you want to thank him.
it's his foreign policy that makes people want to shoot him.
they don't call him the war president for nothing.
he managed to take over 2 countries and make a bigger mess out of them than they already were.
afghanistan for example, he invaded it because supposedly osama bin laden resided there, they never found him.
he overthrew the taliban, but the truth is that the taliban still reigns there, life isn't easier there. women are still being surpressed, innocent men women and children are still losing their lives, and the government there can't do anything about it.
it's the same for Iraq, i know i'm going to get heat from this. but again he invaded it, he made Saddam into a martyr with the way he was executed, anti western feelings have never been this high.
and he didn't do it for the greater good, he wanted to finish what his father started. and because of the oil.
Bush is so transfixed on his foreign policy that he ignores what is happening in his own country.
New Orleans when Katrina struck. i believe that if he recognised the disaster for what it was, the special aid troops would've been sent in a lot earlier. but where were those troops? right in Iraq killing off innocent people.
more recently the economy, he's spending a huge budget on the way in Iraq but he should've used that budget to prevent the interest rocketing sky high.
the man is too fixated on his foreign policy which has no success by the way, and he's not doing enough for his own country.
to me a good president is one who has the best interest for his own people and country first. and to be honest, George W Bush Junior doesn't have that.

It might have something to do with the unjustified war of his that has killed tens of thousands. Call me crazy, but that tends to put people off a bit. Or maybe the use of illegal detainment of Arabs. They were smart not to put them in concentration camps like they did the Japanese. But theres a few Arabs in every jail, scattered across the country, held indefinetly without charges, without trials. In my hometown, they set up a pizza shop owner for Christ's sake. Poor guy even brought his Rabbi with him to make sure he was donating to a good cause. When he finally, after months, gave them some money, it was a huge story, a big feather in the anti Terrorism cap. What a load. Yeah, it tends to make people hate the President. You could almost feel bad for him, but thank him? Jesus man, look around you!

No, I think it's only 4 Presidents that have been as bad as Bush, but they were bad in American politics, not involved in a useless war and wasting our money and killing our soldiers. Well, he may not be the anti-christ, he isn't smart enough. and as far as thinking him, what is there to thank him for, getting us into a bad war, making our economy worse than it has been in years. Giving us a Supreme Court that is ready to take away all or our rights. Gee, we really are living in the Garden of Eden, give me my apple please.

great question!
Many reasons compound to bring this:
More media outlets than ever, the 24-7 media abhors a news vacuum. Any little facet makes news. and bad news is good news (25 Iraqis killed is good for news) good news is NO news (25 Iraqi school for girls open)
post 9/11 world is a tricky place, there are only 100's of wrong things to do, no right things to do. I prefer a war in Iraq than a war in the US. Some people believe no war is an option, but I don't
Most people don't like any politician - if you believe approval ratings, its nearly impossible to break50% - half of Americans don't vote, 25 % voted for the other guy, any president starts with 25% and depending what happens, gains or loses a little from there
No one remembers failure too long, like you saind there hae been 10 worse presidents: I remember Carter and 21% mortages and 18% inflation- Carter was HORRIBLE!! Taft and Grant were rife with corruption, but who remembers
GWB has not helped himself too much, he has chosen policies that will take 10 years or more to come to fruitrition, too long for the media
I agree, thanks GWB for preventing a 2nd, 3rd and 4th 9/11

There have been none worse them this one, but if you want to list him in the bottom 10, I won't fight you about that.
There is nothing this president has done that warrants thanks. Even his tax cuts are damaging to the US because the he has increased spending more than any other president and is borrowing tons of money from China while sending all our manufacturing jobs over there.
Add that to the senseless war in Iraq, the handling on Katrina, continuing huge tax breaks on oil companies, and the increase in uninsured Americans.

I notice you didn't name the ten and anyway they all have some problem but George has set a new standard for putting incompetent people in high office. That with his idea of only having yes men/woman reporting to him has gotten us to this sorry state of affairs.

...because un-intelligent people can only devolve to "name calling" when they don't know how to defend their "own" hypocritical opinions. that is why Dems can only criticize, but do not have an"good ideas" about solving problems!
for example. We have a shortfall with dependence on foreign oil, but heaven forbid us drill off the shore of Florida...which by the way "China" has already said they will drill if we won't. So what kinda deal is that.
not to mention the fact that I would not like to see China so close to "our" shores....
..I believe Bush will have a respectable place in history..so not to worry.
