I think it's funny that those who haven't been in a fight are quick to say that it doesn't show anything and everyone who has been in a fight says they know a lot about themselves.
For those of you who don't get it...
We all have a fight or flight instinct built in, just like animals. When you are in a fight you can really get to see what you would do in certain situations as well as see how well you handle your anger, how far you can push your endurance limits, how much pain you can take before you tap out.
I've been training and fighting for almost 20 years and I think there are very few things that can teach you more about yourself than recreational fighting.
Real fights teach you other things about yourself but I don't recommend that. The things you learn in real fights are whether you can beat someone and then stop when you have them beat. Some people keep going , and those people are criminals. Not a lesson that you want to be faced with only to find that you lose your temper and bash someones head of the pavement and seriously damage them for life.
Stick to fighting with gloves and pads and you'll see that your eyes are opened just a little more with each round. Unless you suck, then they're closed a little more with each round!

Good movie by the way and it is 100% true. You have no idea what you're capable of until you do the dance. I had some low self esteem and hated fighting until I finally snapped on some that had been bothering me for months. Got in a good scuffle at sonic downtown, I threw the first punch contacted in the throat then went down on the ground with him and comminsed mushing his face. Now I don't take crap off of anyone, it's bliss.

If you have never been in a fght then you should know a lot about yourself it does not taking fighting to get anywhere in life. If you dont fight it just shows you are a good person.

I know a lot about myself, but I still need to learn more, like why do I always procrastinate and do I have depression or not, and why do I always want to make everything perfect?

I know everything about my self... everything. Then again, I have been in a fight.
Oh, and that's my line too, fool.
