Well if you know what the word actually says then what's the point in correcting it? You'll still know what it says so anyone who corrects someone is just wasting their time.

No. I think proper spelling is important. Not everyone reading these questions may have English as a first language and bad spelling is just going to confuse them. They're not going to find it easy to sound out a word phonetically if they are unsure how to pronounce some letters or sounds.
I'm no pedant, I don't point out other peoples' typos and tiny grammatical errors. I also have no objections to slang and 'standard' abbreviations. I'm not the Spelling Police or anything! I just think it doesn't take much effort to get it right, so why not get it right.
What really annoys me is when people spell the salient words of their questions wrong. I would always correct someone who'd done that.

Ok people come on here for fun and It isn't really necessary for others to sarcastically correct spelling and grammar etc.
But it is lazy and shows a lack of general intelligence when people post stuff on here that is full of "txt speak" or things like "dis" instead of this, or "da" instead of the. Dat is more annoying dan anyone correcting da spelling!

It does. They don't answer the Q put just point that out. Like in culture&groups so many people there are from other cultures , instead of learning from these people they say. "You can not even spell Japan! "

Well I like to try and spell correctly, so I don't mind too much. I don't correct others spellings because I can't spell myself and I wouldn't if I could anyway.

If you are being serious, and I doubt if your spelling is as bad as your question suggests, no it doesn't annoy me because there is no need for bad spelling when there is spell check.

Yeah it annoying
What really annoys me is when people are spelling stuff over the phone and they start that 'Victor, Romeo, Foxtrot' business... where exactly do they think they are? In a combat situation??

Then maybe you should use real words instead of hieroglyphics. You post things so someone can read it, surely.
