She needs to be seen by a farrier - and soon.

She needs trimming by someone who is familiar with donkeys, because they need their heel to be high, not like a horse that gets the heel trimmed down.

It could be that she just needs her feet rasped, you don't say how long the cracks are.

Whoever trimmed her before was probably used to horses only, so now they are growing out in a way that isn't natural for her, so they crack.

Also, if you live where it's dry, you should run some water on the ground once in awhile, and you should use hoof protectors on her, the type that moisturize, once or twice a week.

I LOVE Donkeys. You're so lucky.

I agree with everyone saying getting a farrier out.

Are they on the back side of the hooves and are you sure its just not where the frog meets the hoof? I know my friends look at my donkeys hooves and think he has cracks there, but they are just shaped differently.

But theres nothing you can do yourself, other than giving him some biotin to strengthen his hooves.

Get a farrier out and keep him trimmed reguarly also.

You need to have a furrier take care of her. Any hoof problems are major issues in equine breeds.
