...to say anything you want without facts but when you are confronted with facts from a conservative, you block them, report them, and/or call them names?
Exactly how is that free speech?

Bert T, I understand your complaint about my questions and answers. I really do understand. But most of the time, I my questions and answers contain information that has been commonly reported in the news and involves just a little bit of logical rational thinking to come to some fairly simple conclusions. For example, my response to Ricky,

Take a look and see. Oh, and thanks for being critical on an adult level. Greatly refreshing!

spacedude4, Uncle Al sure in heck did say he was personally involved with the creation of the internet. Unfortuneately, I don't have the link handy, but go take a better look at your research on Al Gore speaches involving the internet. You will find out what he did say.

Hey Bert, I don't know about the Chat rooms from Yahoo. Where are they so I can use them instead.
Answers to political questions are primarily based on opinions and not necissarily facts. After all, you idea of what is best for your country is different than mine.
And Bert, you mean to tell me you have not heard of any of the major news stories that I mentioned jpreviously? Come on. I was born at night, but not last night.
And finally, I never have nor will hide my questions and answers. I take pride in my conservative views and my Christian way of life. I respect others opinions of me and the things i believe as long as any criticizm is done with respectful understanding, courtesy, and maturity. with no intenet of being disrespectful, have you even tried to look at my profile? Have you even tried to understand how and why I ask and answer the way I do?

They hate to be distracted from their rants by facts that disprove their points. It makes their heads spin like Regan O'Neill's

Free Speech is the ability to say anything you want as long as it does infringe on the rights of others. What you say does not have to be the truth. Lots of people say Al Gore said he invented the itnernet in his last run for Office. He did not really say that, but many, many people still say he did. Now saying some lies can get you into trouble if someone decides to take you to Court, but that is not the normal thing and is usually thrown out unless it is personally damaging, ie Libel.

I think this is the key phrase
"but when you are confronted with facts from a conservative"
I have blocked a few conservative type yahoo's
because they emailed me over and over with so called facts.
and most of the time the email is from the asker of the question, So I wonder why these conservatives ask questions in the first place since everyone of them think they know it all.
I guess it comes from that driving force they have of shoving there FACTS and morals (or lack there of) and Values (Ha) down every ones throats. get a life cry baby

I have never blocked or reported anyone (I try not to name call, but won't claim my innocence), but free speech definately entails the right to free debate. Unfortunately, I find that it is often conservatives who make claims without support on this forum. Global warming sceptics invent information, immigration opponents are unwilling to consider pragmatic solutions, and they post insane things about the war in Iraq. Frankly, conservatives post as crazy of things as the British do on this forum. I can support all of my stuff, and don't say things that I can't support. That's why I don't do the blocking, name calling, or reporting...that's bogus...I can win any argument with you all.

i'm a liberal and that i don't hate loose speech. you're speaking a pair of handful of people who have been offended by a humorous tale. not each physique feels that way. they are entitled to assert what they like, without apology. purely such as you're. i actually hate generalizations and desire you people could improve up. not each physique is a left or suited wing whacko. some people extremely think of. i actually think of that advert is tremendously humorous!

So what were your facts, when were they blocked, and what did the lib say that was not factual?
You see. on both sides, the first speaker, either lib or con, thinks they have the facts and think the other side is full of crap.
To put it in brief - your exact same question could be posted switching Lib and conservative (why do you always abbreviate liberal as LIB but never conservative as CON?) and be seen as legitimate by half the people here.....

FACTS? From a **conservative**?
That'll happen at about the same time as moose lay eggs.
Today, most social conservatives are lemmings of the RRR Cult -- the "Religious" Radical Right. Which has agendas that are supported by NO facts, because no such facts even EXIST.
For example, there is NO valid reason for seeking to FORCE millions of girls and women to gestate UNwanted pregnancies to term against their will. A very real, 9-month-long form of **rape**.
And there is NO way that same-sex marriage could do ANY harm to any opposite-sex couples' marriages.
Today's "conservatives" are a monumental, and very sick JOKE.

I have neither blocked nor reported you, but you provide no facts. No links to questions which you've had answers removed, no sources to back up your "facts", etc.
Without sources, all you're doing is spouting personal opinion, something which has no place ina "Question and Answer" forum.
FACT 1: Yahoo Answers is a "Question and Answer" forum, implicitly meaning Questions which have definitive, objective answers. For example, answers to vehicle repair questions in Y/A do not rely on "feelings, opinions, 'knowing' something", etc., they rely on hard facts, generally recognized or proven procedures, etc. Why should the Politics Section be any different? (This is why I generally no longer answer the obviously baiting questions such as, "Why do you hate GWB or whomever?" As there can BE no correct answer, in the sense of the question, "2 + 2", "4" is, and in most physical states of being can BE, the only correct answer.
FACT 2: Yahoo provides free chat rooms on a huge amount of subjects, including Politics. Those chat rooms are the appropriate venue for debate, discussion, flaming those with whom you don't agree, etc. This forum is for questions to which you cannot find the answers yourself.
FACT 3: Again, you show no sources to back your claim. Of what "facts" are you talking? And why do you take an antagonistic approach to "Questions and Answers", claiming to "confront" people with facts? You don't "confront" people with anything and expect to taken seriously. You present you thesis, you supply facts, studies, legitimate links to credible sources which support that thesis and you prove your points logically and WITH ZERO PASSION.
Apparently everyone is doing this though, as I had a series of answers removed as well, one right after the other. As soon as I closed my answers, it stopped. Deal with it. It isn't like you can buy anything with thse points you know.
FACT 4: "Assuming" anything, such as "liberals" or whomever of being behind some huge plot to silence the only voice of reason in Y/A (yours), really shows you think a lot more of yourself and your importance to this site than the rest of us do.
FACT 5: You do not state your question (this one at least) in a way in which it can be legitimately answered. By stating the conditions (with no supporting evidence) then asking the answerer to answer in a way which would deny your preset conditions is intellectually lazy and dishonest. Start asking questions to which you actually desire answers, answers which will increase your general knowledge about whatever subject you're interested in, and I believe (yes, only opinion, but one borne out of experience) you will receive the respect you give.
FACT 6: Calling a person names in here, while immature and a waste of resources, is the very definition of "Free Speech".
FACT 7: Apparently NONE of the questions allegedly removed were important enough for you to repeat asking, but it's impossible to know, since you have also closed your quesitons.

Conservatives do the same thing. And yes, it is free speech because you can't prevent anyone from saying their piece. The partisan news networks simply don't give equal coverage. "Free" means the right to not publish what you don't like in your privately owned news media.

This constant whining about being a victim of the liberals is getting pretty old. Hey, if I don't want tol isten to you, that's my right. Freedom of speech is also not listening to you folks saying crap like "libtards" and "Hitlary". Hey, I'm sick of it. And if you won't shut the hell up, someone may block you. Get over it.
Grow up. Some folks just don't want to listen to your rants.
