Not everyone wants to fight when they are drunk. My mother has a friend who, given the chance, drinks a couple of glasses of Trinidadian rum for breakfast, lunch and dinner. One day he was drunk (as usual) and promptly started singing "Slow Boat To China." Then he sat down and started talking about Musicology. He gets incredibly happy when he's drunk.

My point is, different people react to alcohol in different ways. It all depends on the individual.

People under the influence of huge amount of alcohol have paralyzed the limbic system of the brain which handles aggressive tendencies. These tendencies are usually handled via "defense mechanisms."

However, alcohol, a central nervous system depressant, DISINHIBITS the personality to a certain extent. More so in some than others.

Consequently, aggressive individuals no longer feel compelled to check their tendencies, due to a false sense of confidence and security. Their "higher," or "executive functioning" has been turned off. They think it's OK to fight because EVERYTHING they do is OK.

Nothing is more unreliable than the severely intoxicated mind.
It's almost better to be stoned, than subject oneself to the immediate ravages of alcohol, and by no means am I plugging the latter.

As i said in the other question....

1) there drunk
2) they haven't got good people skills (hence they stay in there own little group)
3) trouble makers
4) losers
5) cant or haven't scooped up a girl (probably why there now pissed with nothing and nowhere to go)

Alcohol doesn't make people fight, its the individual who starts fights.

Alcohol is a stimulant before the depressive effects kick in. And alcohol erodes inhibitions, so people can become more emotional and less able to make rational decisions. It's the perfect storm for senseless violence and impulsive sexual behavior.

Alcohol causes serious problems. When your sober your intellect rules over your emotions but when your intoxicated your uninhibited and your emotions rule over your intellect. The guys you saw were the type of drunks who get belligerent. Others have a predisposition to becoming withdrawn or even weepy.

Below I attached a good resource.

Too much alcohol causes one to lose the ability to control their normal ways of dealing with situations. They can become very agressive, where they are normally a passive individual.
