I mean some games don't work on it, printers, fax machines, and other hardware there aren't drivers for yet.
It is beyond me why people just don't stick with xp or 2000 NT and give the people at Microsoft time to get the bugs out of Vista first before they go HOG WILD over buying it. I mean come on people the first set of updates aren't out for it yet and the companies who make other products that work on computers don't have drivers ready for Vista either.
It just seems silly to me to buy a computer that all of your other gadgits won't work with.

people always want what is new people always feel entitled to the best and assume that newer things will be better because if its new they should have improved things from before. People are like this with software computers mobiles and cars and everything but if you think about it this logic is completly falacious.

For one the Ford Model T had better gas milage than many modern cars even though after almost 100 years we could vastly improve on that

The iPhone constantly has issues for people using it crashing its blue tooth is supposed to be poorly made etc.

the list goes on and on yet no one ever learns its just human intinct either fears or craves new and unknown

Been here so long, finally meet one intelegent person who happens to be a girl.. Hat's Off to u. Let me salute you also.

What you say, hit the nail right at the top of the Head and Straight into the Head.

You are Absolutely right. I have been telling people that fr a long time.

Hopefully, newbie who have nopt purchase a new PC/Lap TOp will take this advice and avoid WIndow Vista.

Heard from the grapevine, that WIndow XP will still be supported till 2009. for Updates and patches. Also heard that Window Service PAck #3 wil l be released soon, and be supported until 2014.

So, stick wth XP first.

Many people purcahse laptop or PC with Vista preloaded, to go back and not able to us etheir old printer. Why... There is no driver for the printer. What a joke....

This also covers software, games, accessoriies, etc.

Do not fall into this Vista trap.

STICK with Window XP.

When journalists asked Henry Ford I which is the best car in the world do you know what was his reply. He paused and answered : "The best car is always NEW car." Same with technology and all other things. Future is always in something that is new and gives you features that will be fully explored and appreciated in a year or two from the introduction. If you have so many things tied to XP you have to stick with it, otherwise Vista IS really a step ahead of XP.
I bought a new laptop preloaded with Premium Vista and it is really much better than XP especially in home media and organizing things - everything is simpler and easier and it is much nicer on the eyes. It is not radical departure from XP but just nicer improvement of XP.

They do it everytime there is a new release of any Operating System.
It seems they want to be the first to brag to everyone that they are running Vista.
Believe it when I tell you XP was no different, If you don't, go to add/remove programs and look at the amount of Hot Fix entrys they have for this new software (not new anymore) and you will see.

It's just human's nature. If it's new and looks good, they want it. My cousin has it and it's pretty much the same as the rest, just with a different layout.
