Who else is fed up of these charity adverts about African poverty, trying to make us feel guilty if we where the ones that made them poor. It is historic fact that Africa has never been as rich as it was when under European control, and when we left the countries we left them with the infrastructure to carry on civilized and have a growing economy. But did it?!?!? No, they squabbled and ruined the place and now they blame us, and look for our support at the same time. Why our they constantly trying to make us feel guilty?

Just companies trying to make money. You didn't really think the people are working there for free did you? I don't feel guilty, and I don't contribute to those places. I'd prefer to keep my money in America, where it belongs, unlike so many of the American companies now days.

I think the guilt they try to lay on people is bordering criminal.

Africa will never be free from poverty, sickness and the rest until birth control, preferably vasectomy is promoted and enforced.

When we help them we actually hurt them as we allow them to further the misery and reproduce even more.

It may sound mean but the best thing outsiders can do is pull out of Africa and stay out and let nature take it's course.

I can see where you are coming from, but just wait half a minute. There is an inconvenient thing called humanity which when we have so much makes us feel a little uncomfortable when you see others with so little. The people you see with so little are ordinary People who did not have much informed choice as to independence. the problem all of these charities and companies giving aid is ensuring it reaches the right people. This is a logistical nightmare getting through war zones. So whilst I see your point I do not accept your reasoning

I seriously believe that though it is good to help the less fortunate, charity should always start at home.
