It's definitely nothing to do with religions.
I think it's to do with people's ability to have a vision and to progress. Less developed countries could have the world's tallest building or the world's biggest shopping centre, but they might not show respect to one another or life in general. So I don't think it's to do with money, either. At this stage of the civilisation, different countries should interact more and communicate more with one another so we can all learn from each other.

Some reasons are as follows:
l. Poor economy
2.Resources of the Government
3.It depends on the ability of the elected or appointed officilas running the government of one country
4.Indolence of the citizenry
5. Poor collection of taxes for the government
6.lack of cooperation of the citizenry to the government
7. Graft and corrupt practices of the government including officials of private sectors
8. and others.

These words were written by King Solomon the wisest of all the ancient Kings of Israel. As you can see he identified the problem, "man has dominated man to his injury".
The truth is that the world produces enough of everything for all of us but man in his greed does not like to be equal.

Because they don't have control over their resources - they're in the hands of big corporations.
Like Brazil for example: massive resources, much poverty.

read jared diamonds book, "guns, germs and steel"...this book will explain it all...after that, you will know EXACTLY why some countries are less developed than others.
